Experiential design: How to bring your space to life
Your brand isn’t just a logo on the wall—it’s everything people feel when they step into your space. Clients, prospects, and employees, every interaction they have with your environment is a chance to shape their perception of your organization.
Your space speaks through every sense. Consider what do people see when they enter? What do they hear, touch, or smell? Every detail, and every sense, is an opportunity to shape how your brand is experienced. When designed with intention, your environment doesn’t just reflect your brand—it brings it to life.
Visually reinforce your brand's message
From the moment someone approaches and enters your space, it is already telling your brand’s story. Your audience (both internal and external) takes in the lighting, colors, textures, and artwork—all visual details that shape how they perceive your brand.
These details should be purposeful. At Lunne, we're always looking for new and unique ways to transform how the brand voice is communicated within the space. In the past, it was common for mantras to be highlighted on Human Resources walls, like a visual representation of an employee handbook.
But we see these spaces differently.
We challenge the status quo and are always searching for new opportunities to change where brand communication shows up and how. For us, the spaces in your environment are opportunities to showcase more. It’s a unique opportunity to champion culture, celebrate performance, and highlight team values that deeply resonate across every department, no matter the industry.
When done right, the space starts to feel like a natural extension of your brand, not just where work happens.
Approach audio with intention
Sound plays a bigger role in brand experience than often realized. Music is the most common choice, yet it’s personal. Conversely, we also examine ways to create zones that are purposefully quiet for working, escape, and concentration. This may show up by introducing acoustical elements such as ceiling baffles, felt dividers, and a balance of both hard and soft floor surfaces.
For one client, the goal was to express the essence of water. Instead of relying on a music playlist, we recommended a curated soundscape—subtle audio like trickling streams, flowing rivers, and the soft rhythm of water droplets. Paired with large visuals of waterfalls and natural landscapes, the result was an immersive experience that made the brand feel present in both sight and sound.
It’s paramount to partner with our clients closely so we can approach audio with personalized intention.
Curate materials for form and function
The textures and materials in your space say a lot about how it’s meant to be used. Soft seating like velvet or leather can create a warm, welcoming, or high-end feel. Dimensional and tactile surfaces add personality and intrigue. Comfort and durability matter just as much—hard chairs work for quick meetings, while softer seating encourages people to stay longer and get comfortable.
When possible, we love to incorporate locally-sourced materials or furniture. It supports the brand’s community while also bringing a sense of character to the space. Whether it’s a smooth tabletop or a cozy fabric, what people touch helps them connect to your brand in a more personal way.
Immerse your audience for a lasting impression
Sometimes a project needs to reach audiences through engaging and interactive experiences to achieve objectives. Through experiential design, we plan, create, and implement events and environments that immerse audiences in a brand, making a lasting, tangible impression.
